Tickets on sale to the 2016 Capricorn Food and Wine Festival

Good food lovers and fine wine aficionados are counting down to the weekend of the 16, 17 and 18 of September when the fourth annual 2016 Capricorn Food and Wine Festival uncorks for another weekend of gourmet food, wine and entertainment. Tickets are on sale from today!
The weekend begins with the official grand opening at the Twilight Tastings on Friday 16 September 5.00pm til late. Have a sneak peak at the Celebrity Theatre, feast your way through our food and wine exhibitors and be entertained by live music from local musicians. The event will feature Queensland School’s Rowing races and entertainment throughout the evening.
The Festival Grounds open Saturday 11.00am til midnight and Sunday 11.00am til 8.00pm with plenty of activities to keep you entertained throughout the day and night. Be educated and inspired by top chefs’ cooking demonstrations in the Celebrity Theatre. Watch our chefs and contestants go head-to-head in the Rocky Steady Cook-off – cooking up inspired dishes in under 30mins! Visit, taste and learn from the exhibitors in our Fitzroy Food Court and Wine Pavilion – a feast for the tastebuds.
The action heats up Saturday evening from 6.00pm with the Parilla Carnival. Experience the South American vibe with Samba dancers, Brazilian live percussionists and more. Beaches Resort are bringing the famous Mario’s Sizzling Parrilla to the Festival grounds, with patrons able to purchase their authentic Argentinian BBQ meals including access to preferential seating area. The Cork and Fork Bar will be open serving specialty beers, wines, spirits and cocktails.
The Ladies of the Vine Champagne High Tea on Saturday 17 September will be an afternoon of delightful fashion, food and entertainment. Dress in your best lawn party attire and bring your girlfriends for an afternoon of superb dining, fashion and entertainment, all set along the picturesque banks of the Fitzroy River. Be inspired by our host for the afternoon, Kyla Kilpatrick, The Champagne Dame. Take a stroll with Kyla down Champagne’s illustrious and grand memory lane and be introduced to some of the colourful characters who have interwoven their lives with champagne.
The newest signature event to the lineup is Matt Golinski’s Great Keppel Island Luncheon on Saturday 17th September. Guests will enjoy a three course lunch of fresh seafood and regional produce as they immerse themselves in the magnificent views overlooking the crystal clear waters of Keppel Bay. Due to the popularity and intimate nature of this event, we expect tickets to sell out very quickly – book now to secure your place.
This year we are offering a new take on our interactive and intimate cooking class – Beef Australia’s Beef on the Bone BBQ Roast. Be entertained by Meat and Livestock Australia’s celebrity chef Samuel Burke, as he works with you and teaches you how to cook your own perfect Roast beef lunch on the Weber Baby Q. Then sit down, relax and devour your steak in the beautiful surrounds of the Festival Grounds.
Guests will wrap up the weekend in style with the Festival’s signature event, The Long Luncheon Sunday 18 September. Join Noosa Boathouse’s executive chef Shane Bailey for a long, relaxing afternoon of gourmet food, delectable wines and specialty beers. Conclude the Festival weekend in style – a not to be missed dining experience!
